Try to make sure that Compiz knows which windows decorator it&#039;s using.

Install compizconfig-settings-manager if you haven&#039;t already (in synaptic).

Go into Preferences-&gt;Advanced Desktop-Effects.

Find Window Decoration and make sure it&#039;s ticked. Go into it. In the Command box type &quot;Emerald&quot;. See if that fixes things.
Are u using Kde/Gnome?
Btw in my opinion kde does not blend too well with compiz. I normally don&#039;t use kde. There is a package for kde in the package manager (compiz-fusion-manager-kde or something like that). Install it and try</description>
